After summer, our skin often tells the story of the sun more than we would like… Sound familiar? During summer, the skin is exposed to a lot of sunlight, and pigment gradually accumulates. Freckles become more noticeable, new spots appear, the skin tone becomes uneven, and the face loses that fresh, visually “clear” appearance. And it’s important to understand: treating pigmentation is not simply about trying to “erase a spot.” Our goal is to even out the overall skin tone, influence the processes involved in melanin production, and at the same time support the skin so that the result looks beautiful and natural. One of the products I love to use as part of a pigmentation-correction program is SIMILDIET XTRA LIGHTENING PLUS+ Cream. This is not simply a brightening cream. Its formula combines several active ingredients that work with pigmentation at different stages: 🔸 Tranexamic acid — one of the key ingredients used in hyperpigmentation-correction programs. It helps reduce signals associated with excessive melanin production. 🔸 Arbutin — helps reduce the activity of tyrosinase, an enzyme involved in melanin synthesis. 🔸 Azelaic acid — works on pigmentation while also providing anti-inflammatory benefits. 🔸 Liposomal kojic acid — a brightening ingredient targeting the processes involved in melanin production. 🔸 Niacinamide — helps promote a more even skin tone and reduce the visible appearance of pigmentation. 🔸 Phytic and citric acids — support skin renewal and a smoother, fresher-looking complexion. 🔸 Licorice root extract (Glycyrrhiza glabra) — a well-known ingredient in brightening formulations that helps address uneven skin tone. 🔸 Resorcinol — an active ingredient used in products designed to target hyperpigmentation. 🔸 Nonapeptide-1 — a peptide used in formulations designed to regulate melanogenesis-related processes. Tocopherol (vitamin E) and botanical ingredients complement the formula with antioxidant support for the skin. That’s why after summer, I look at the skin from a much broader perspective than simply “removing a spot”: brighten → even out the skin tone → improve texture → restore radiance → help prevent pigmentation from returning. And, of course, the most important part of any pigmentation-correction program is daily SPF protection. Without it, even the most carefully designed correction program will work much less effectively. If you’ve noticed that your skin has become more uneven after summer, new spots have appeared, or existing pigmentation has become more pronounced — now is the perfect time to focus on restoring your skin and evening out its tone.
