PRODUCT FEATURES: Monsoon Mist is a light toner with a fresh, delicate fragrance that does not cause irritation and is well tolerated by the skin and mucous membranes of the eyes. The product does not contain parabens, oils, or alcohol. It has a neutral pH due to the sodium lactate content, but is slightly more alkaline than the surface pH of the skin. It does not cause a burning sensation when it comes into contact with the eyes and does not leave any residue that clogs pores. Sodium lactate is the sodium salt of lactic acid and has keratolytic properties. It is produced from sugar, for example, during the fermentation of corn or beets, followed by the neutralization of the resulting lactic acid. Sodium lactate is a component of the skin's natural moisturizing factor (NMF) and an important natural ingredient for maintaining moisture balance. Sodium lactate is an excellent moisturizer and increases the moisture content of the skin by up to 84%. Compared to other widely used moisturizers, its ability to bind water is second only to hyaluronic acid. Sodium lactate stimulates cells to effectively retain water. Sodium lactate also acts as a buffer.
